Badger-Byte: During the builder's trials the Badger made 32 1/2 knots and developed 37,500 shaft horsepower. Although the Todd Engineers went over the Engine Room with a fine tooth comb trying to figure out why they were unsuccessful in making any conclusive determinations. The Badger was considered the fastest of all the Knox-class.
